(Bookout, Gentry, Clouse, Shippert, Hollingsworth, West And More)
"Daughter of the Plains" This is a postcard that was sent to my great aunt Edna Hanne in 1909. I have an album of her postcards, some dating back to 1898.
In genealogical time, I haven't been working very long on our family lines (I started in January of 1997). My husband's Bookout line comes out of Tennessee, as does his Clouse (maternal) line. His Bookouts went to Texas and Oklahoma. His Clouses also went to Oklahoma. My Gentry line is from Virginia, then North Carolina, Tennessee and points West-Texas, and Nebraska. My maternal Hollingsworth line is from North Carolina, then Tennessee, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas and then back to Illinois, where the Hollingsworths merged with the Shipperts, who have lived in the same county (Lee) for more than a hundred years-in fact the Shippert family farm is a "Centennial Farm", and some of my Shippert kin still farm it. Bookouts and Gentrys ended up in California, where Tom and I met in 1968. The rest, as they say, is history. I hope to add pedigree charts to this page, and links to other family pages. Below are some of my genealogy links.
