The tool for measuring light, electromagnetic transmissions. The importance of Tymon's NANOSTYK can best be identified by examining a phenomenon common to computers. That phenomenon is the ever increasing frequency at which the systems operate. In the recent past the frequency of the CPU's has increased from megahertz (million cycles per second) to gigahertz (billion cycles per second). A one gigahertz operation produces one cycle each nanosecond. Tymon's NANOSTYK is the only measuring device specifically developed to make direct measurements in this range. As electromagnetic transmissions travel at the speed of light, again, the NANOSTYK is a natural tool for measurements. One key component for operations in the frequency range with which we are dealing is the delay line. In measurements for developing delay lines the NANOSTYK is the best directly usable tool. And the NANOSTYK is the only tool that provides a concrete representation of the speed of light. As frequencies move into the tetrahertz range (1000 billion cycles per second) the picosecond subdivisions of the NANOSTYK, again, serve as a direct measurement devise. The meter (with a length of 1/299,792,458 of the distance traveled by light in a vacuum in a second), although also based on the speed of light, requires inconvenient conversions when used in operating with elements in the NANOSTYK range of measurement.
