From fairy tales of Beauty and the Beast to such cinema thrillers as King Kong the love of monster for lady fair has been of recurrent interest to young and old.

LEGEND OF A STAR-CROSSED LOVE returns to the original Greek legend from which many such stories are derived, the legend of the love of Pluto for Persephone. A love story, a tragedy, where the Prince of Darkness, for all his power, can possess but never be loved by the bride of his choice. And their star-crossed match casts a dark shadow over all - to be lifted, if ever, at the Tarn of Eternity.

Demophoon, nursed in youth by Ceres, is chosen by her to champion and save her daughter, Persephone. Through chance he saves the life of Athena, is chosen to be her husband. Zeus rejects him, and a series of misadventures follows.

Demo, is drawn unwillingly into the politics and schemes of the Olympiads, He finds himself again and again involved in events shaping not only his own destiny, but that of Gods and men.

And always, wherever he wander, travels with him the unseen companion. Hounded by this strange and malignant nemesis, he survives challenge after challenge until the final adventure Their paths are bound, and he knows only this - that all shall be resolved at the fated Tarn.

Each travels to the Tarn, ignorant of the events to transpire there. Pluto - twisted, tortured, hideous ruler of the underworld - pines for the love denied him. Persephone, kidnapped and held thrall in that damned kingdom, plots her escape. Athena, Goddess of Wisdom, would keep her lover, Demo, from harm's way - but is powerless to act. Zeus, ThunderGod, yet must yield to the whims of fate and to the inevitable coming of Wyrd.

Nor is the path to the Tarn straight and true. Rather, like a ribbon blowing in the wind it twists and turns, each turn carrying Demo into a new and different adventure, a new and different challenge. He dares the maze at Minos, faces the Minotaur. The Gorgon is met in a cold and desolate land. Prometheus is freed, and Atlas punished. Among the Chilly Mountains he crosses paths with the last survivor, Wyrd.

Yet, though the path's end is hidden from his view, ever it winds toward the waiting Tarn, toward the inevitable destiny. Always, traveling the path with him, the unseen companion weighs heavy on him. The unseen companion, to every weapon invincible, and with but one goal in mind. Demo's destruction.

And the Fates decree, before the curtain falls, the frigid waters of the dark Tarn will close forever on the loser of that ultimate battle.
