The Chevota

The Chevota is a project sponsored by Jason Landes of Lake Hughes, California.
The Chevota is a 1973 J55 Toyota Land Cruiser that Jason wanted to put a bigger engine into. Well along comes an old Chevy 3/4 ton Pickup with a cancer ridden body. The problem is that the frame of the Toyota just isn't big enough to take that big 350 engine so the frame would need to be changed along with the engine, viola, the Chevota.
The Toyota was jacked up and the frame and engine pulled out. Then the same with the Chevy. Then after a complete rebuild of the engine and transmission on the Chevy parts, they were rolled under the Toyota Chassis and after a few minor modifications (like shortening the frame and drive shafts and building new body mounts) we have the Chevota.
This project was completed after about six months of incubation. With the leftover parts there may be a Toyrolet in the future.
