Looking for marriage records for William C Barnett and Louisa Ann Ret.
Married around 1845
David S Roane6/21/99
The Roane's first
moved into the area in 1823, to what is now Choudrant. We are still
around. My uncle, W.R. Roane wrote a fairly extensive history of our
family in Louisiana. He traced the lineages of the names Roane, Sanders,
Bennett and Row. A copy is in the geneology section in the Ouachita
Parish Library; I don't know whether or not Lincoln Parish has one.
When Lincoln Parish was created, my great grandfather, James M.
Roane was the surveyor who established the lines. My uncle, U.S. Roane
(deceased) would have any surveying records, but much was lost in a fire
in the early 1960's. His daughter, Lydia(irs) Taylor may have some old
records if anyone is interested.

Hi! I'm looking for anyone that may have information on Jefferson Bonaparte
Godard. He was born in 1867 in Monroe County (now Spalding County, Georgia).
He was married to Daisy Evans. According to family "legend" he went to
Ruston, LA (Lincoln Parish, I believe) in about 1890 and returned to Monroe
County by 1910. Also, according to the stories from the older family members,
Daisy died in LA which is most likely the reason he returned to GA when he
did. All of his children appear to have returned with him (at least the ones
I know about!). I would appreciate any info. and am more than happy to share
what I have.
